Features to know about

Keep Moving in Light Snow: Low-Profile Cable Design Adds Traction Without Bulk

When the roads are covered in a light layer of snow, these Titan Chain Cable Tire Chains give you the extra grip you need without weighing you down. The roller-style cables wrap around your tires in a ladder pattern to help maintain forward traction while keeping your ride smooth. They’re a smart choice for those “just in case” winter trips or when local chain laws require you to carry them.

Drive With Confidence on Tight-Clearance Vehicles: SAE Class S Compatibility

If your vehicle doesn’t have much room around the tires, these cables are built to fit. They meet SAE Class S standards for limited wheel-well clearance, so they can be used where heavier chains simply won’t fit. The low-carbon steel rollers are slim and lightweight, giving you the traction you need while protecting your vehicle from clearance-related damage.

Easy to Keep on Hand and Simple to Use: Lightweight and Compact Build

These cables don’t take up much space, making them easy to store in your trunk until you need them. When the weather changes suddenly, they install quickly with a straightforward feed-through-channel design—no levers or complicated tightening tools required. Rubber adjusters (sold separately) are recommended for a snug fit that stays secure as you drive.

Step 2 image showing tire chain being draped over vehicle tire or positioned for drive-on installation.

Step 3 installation image showing user fastening rear side cable of tire chain behind the tire.

Step 4 installation image showing excess tire chain cable being secured through a metal clip.

Smooth Ride and Lasting Strength: Low-Carbon Steel Rollers on Wire Cables

The Titan cable chains use low-carbon steel construction for dependable performance in light snow. The rollers let your tires roll smoothly over paved roads covered with snow or slush, reducing vibration compared to heavy link-style chains. After each use, dry and store them properly to keep them ready for many seasons of winter travel.

Ready for the Road When Conditions Change: Fits 16" – 22" Tires

Each pair is designed to fit a wide range of tire sizes from 16" to 22". That range makes them a convenient solution for travelers who encounter chain-required zones or occasional snow on mountain passes. Compact, durable, and easy to handle, they’re ideal for keeping you prepared wherever the road takes you.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

I have purchased from etrailer before, the communication and customer service is second to none, all businesses should adopt their model for customer service

by:

So far so good. I order the chains for an upcoming ski trip, so have not used as of yet. However, the shipping was on schedule, and boxed well, Thank You

by:

Product is excellent. Cathy T. Was a great representative for the Company. She was very helpful at the "front end" and kept me informed throughout the entire process. Chains arrived in three days and I had them when it snowed yesterday!!!

by:

I purchased for my 2017 Tacoma 2WD prior to a drive to Colorado to join friends at Copper Mountain. Fortunately did not need to use. I did a dry run at home to familiarize myself and all went as planned.

So, my rating is for the service, value, fast shipping and the install of the chains.

Will update if I put them to use in the future.

by:

etrailer made it easy to select the right size and type of chains (a good price too) that I needed for my Explorer. That, along with a great instructional video, made it an easy decision to buy the chains. Delivered on time and ready to use. Will definitely use etrailer again for future purchases !

by:

I have ordered from etrailer one other time. Both times shipping was surprisingly fast.Product was always as described. I do recommend using them. A great company.

by:

I recently ordered chains for my SUV. I love [other site] for the ease of ordering, but I must say etrailer was every bit as good.

Because of the weight of the package I thought it might take a while to get my order. I was pleasantly surprised to receive the chains today. GREAT customer support and follow up!

by:

My items arrived quickly and were exactly what I ordered. I have not put the tire chains on yet, but shopping, ordering, and shipping went very well.

by:

This product is of great value regarding price and quality. It shipped timely and arrived just as expected. The follow up email from George J following regarding my order is great customer service. Especially as he included links to product specific details and instructions. I would recommend etrailer.com for all of your towing and recreational vehicle gear needs.

by:

I just received my new "cable chains" yesterday and put them on for a "dry run" today. I was concerned about my tire size not matching with the size listed on the packaging but it worked out fine. I'm old and not real agile, but I was able to put them on in 15 minutes a wheel under good conditions. I really hope to never use them, but I know better than to travel in snow areas without them. This type of " chain" is new to me but they do fit well and clear the space available around the tire, which is not much. So now I will at least feel better prepared if it snows on me when I travel next month and my wife will be more at ease. The hardest thing about installing these cable chains was getting them to fit back in the bag they came out of. I'm happy! GCS

by:

I was moving across country through the mountains and saw there was going to be a lot of snow when I started the trip in 10 days. Nobody in Southern California carried the chains I needed. The etrailer tire chains were priced right, arrived quickly and fit perfectly.

by:

When I put the tire chains we purchased at etrailer on our Subaru Ascent, the inside fastener part of the chain rubbed against the shock absorber. We Googled it and this happens and would wear a hole in the shock absorber casing after a hundred miles or so. etrailer refused to refund our $$ because it was over 6 months from the date of purchase. We hadn't used them until we got enough snow to need them. I wouldn't recommend buying from etrailer but if you do make sure to test drive the chains as soon as you get them so you can return them if necessary. I can tell you for sure that etrailer tire chains will not work on Subaru Ascent.

by:

I have purchased few types of tire chains over many years, some were for looks others were for function, others were for "dong the job" My latest set purchased from ETRAILER.COM were the best, basically ease of mounting and drivability is better then other more expensive types.

Best tire chains I have ever owned.

by:

It worked on our Ascent but just make sure to adjust and tighten as needed. For us we needed to stop the car at least 2 times to tighten as the chain was banging against the struts. After tightening, the interference was reduced and got us up and down Donner Pass Road. When I got home, the chain only rubbed some paint off the struts, which I spray painted over to prevent rusting. It worked for us but expect some rubbing on an Ascent. Note we did purchase and installed a tensioner to complete the installation.

Hey Richard. With most chains, once you put them on you will have to drive a few miles, and get out and check and adjust the tension a few times.

  • Is There A Ramp Attachment For The Kuat Sherpa 2.0
The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 # SH22G is a great bike rack. I have been using a Kuat NV for the last few years and I love it. Unfortunately, Kuat does not make a ramp for the Sherpa 2.0. The Sherpa can only hold two bikes weighing up to 40 lbs apiece. So this would not work for heavier e-bikes. On that note, I will say that the Kuat NV 2.0 would be a perfect bike rack for your application. We have the # BA12B for a 1-1/4" hitch, or the # BA22B for a 2" hitch. This rack is made for heavier e-bikes,...

  • What Does Class S Compatible Mean?
Hey Mitch! Class S tire chains are designed for use on vehicles with restricted wheel well clearance. I have attached a photo that shows the areas where clearance for Class S tire chains is needed. For the A dimension a minimum of 1.46" between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well is needed. For the B dimension, at least 0.59" between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle itself is required. For S Class compatible tire chains that fit the 245/70-17 tires on a 2024 Ram 2500 you would...
