Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

This front hitch receiver fit my 2011 Ford E-450 perfectly. Easy to install. Inconspicuous when installed.

by:
2008 Ford Van

Just installed the Draw-Tite front mount hitch receiver on my 08 Ford chassis motor home.
The instructions were clear and the included wire bolt pullers made installing the bolts inside the frame a snap.
A fine product and a great place to shop.

by:

hitch went on and has a nice fit,it is easy to go ahead and take the front bumper off, then you can place bolts into frame and not have to fish them, you have to realine front bumper anyway,I left off the plastic underskirt, then I cut the plastic along the bottom of bumper in the middle section(l---l) then with two black wire ties, tied them thru holes used to mount lower skirt and around hitch to keep it tight. used it today to hook to,got van stuck in muddy field, just needed a little pull

by:

Hitch was delivered in three days. Installation was easy but took me a lot longer then the estimated install time. I had to remove the fascia under the bumper in order to move the license plate holder. I will be using the hitch to carry my wife's mobility scooter on the fron of the motorhome, also adds a little weight to the underloaded front axle on the motorhome.

by:

The front mount receiver hitch fit perfectly. Installation went well even without a lift.

Now the front of your Ford looks even more powerful! What will you use the front mount for?

by:

Great Hitch! Watch the video first and your install will be painless!!! Cutting the plastic skirt under the vehicle was a little time consuming. It cuts really easily with an oscillating cutting tool. It took a long time because I cut a little, then did a test fit and repeated that process about 20 times. On the plastic trim for the bumper, I actually did something different. I barely cut any of it away. Mostly, I warmed it up with a torch and made pushed the front of the receiver hitch into the opening making it seamless. If you haven't done much torch work on bumpers, then feel free to just cut it.

by:

This hitch is easy to install and fit perfectly. Just need to drill out to existing holes. As always eTrailer came through with quick delivery and best price.

by:

I mounted it to the front of my RV. Secured a carrier to it and stored a generator & fuel cans for my frequent work trips. I am completely satisfied with the product.

by:

I purchased this front receiver hitch for my 2010 Ford E350 RV to use for a utility basket, launch a 16' boat and now also for a motorcycle carrier. The quality is excellent and full weight rating, one year later and the finish is perfect. Installation was exactly as stated in the directions and the modifications were minor, requiring existing holes in the frame forward of any critical mounts drilled larger and the plastic under the front bumper where a tag goes has to be cut slightly to allow for receiver. The directions called for removal of under carriage splash guard but I was able to trim and reinstall. I am perfectly happy with the purchase. When hauling a motorcycle on the front the RV rides so much smoother and better planted on the road without being overloaded.

by:

Fit perfectly easy installation.

by:

The #65053 front trailer hitch fitted perfectly to our 2019 Ford E450 Jayco 31F RV.
Thank you for a precision product with the necessary hardware and draw wire to make the installation straight forward.
Removing the front grill completely, made it easier to measure and cut out the square hole than is shown in the instruction video.
A 2 3/4 inch square opening fits easily behind the flange of the hitch when remounting the grill.
Remove retaining screws and plastic retainers to dismantle the front grill. The plastic retainers are removed by lightly knocking out the square centre pins with a suitable punch.
See photos.
The instruction video shows the removal of one lug on the number plate mounting to relocate it.
This is not necessary. Simply separate the grill from the chrome bumper with a screw driver at that point and push the mounting with attached lug between the two.

The hitch has been very useful on several occasions. Always consider air flow through the grill and obstruction of headlights. When driving, be aware of extra distance in front.

by:

So glad I have this front hitch for my RV. Well made! Very useful! Installation instructions were excellent!

by:

The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver was easy to install, the installation video was very helpful. Works great for carrying our ebikes on the Kuat bike carrier, and leaves our van doors in the rear more accessible. Bombproof mount. Also great customer service as always from etrailer.

Still works great, after a year and 10,000 miles of travel in our motorhome van.

by:

Best thing I bought. I use it to carry e bike while using my rear receiver to carry an additional e trike.

by:
2017 Ford E-Series Cutaway

Mounted it in a couple hours, relatively easy installation. Having to drill the mounting hole bigger took me by surprise but that's on me for not watching the installation video before buying. This is the only front hitch option for 2017 E450 RV chassis. It mounts rock solid. Standing and bouncing on it, there is no play in the hitch or the mounting point. Standing and bouncing on the hitch- the entire front suspension gives but the mount does not budge. I no longer hesitate about mounting a small motorcycle on the front of the RV- this hitch is made of metal as thick as the RV frame itself.

by:

I managed to install this all by myself. 5 ft 117lbs female. The installation video is awesome and really helped. I did have to enlarge the front hole more than instructed as the holes on the hitch wasn’t 100%. I used 2 ratchet straps and a bottle jack to lift the hitch. I definitely learned how to use a lot of different tools but it works well and I’m proud of myself. Gonna use this hitch for my e-bike.

by:

Fit and finish are great.

by:

It fit just as described & was easy to install. Having the theaded bolt fishing wires really helped too! :)

Toyota RAV4

Have been an e- trailer Cust for most of my hitch and trailer needs for years. The RAV4 hitch and air bags have been a real plus cause the Mrs uses it like a mini truck. The hitch attachments and extensions we’ve bought all top notch - expect nothing less from this front mount hitch for our c class Rv. Recommend you always check with them first before buying elsewhere.

@VictoriaH - Hi we like our visits to see the grand kids the most, not often enough. The RV gives us privacy and flexibility with the dogs who love the beach trips the most. Right now we will explore our way around the PNW and east of the cascades. The front mount will come in handy with the bikes and maybe even some fog lamps that fit on it.

@RvF I bet that is fun and super scenic as well! My parents just visited their grandkids near Mount Rainier a few months ago. There's nothing like creating memories with family. Your grandkids will cherish this time together for the rest of their life. If you would like, please feel free to share any photos of your travels.

Ford

This fit my Ford 2023 E-450 (cutaway) perfectly. I had measured the frame of previous year E-450’s and didn’t see any difference so I gambled and ordered the 65053 which fit.

Installation was straight forward with modification and fitting of the splash guard taking 50% of the time.

Fit and finish was good except at the front of the receiver itself. Unfortunately that’s the only two inches of the whole hitch that show and had weld splatter and sharp bits under the paint. This took a bit of filling to smooth out which I then repainted.

Attached are photos installed on my 2023 E-450.

by:

Very easy to install with no help. But beware - the video shows cutting the bumper facia all the way thru, don't do it, only a small portion needs cut out above the line, if done properly it's not noticeable when it's all done (unlike the video). Be sure to read the directions.
Also directions say NOT to remove the bumper, not sure why. Once I installed the hitch the bumper went back in with no problem.
My splash guard needed a bit more trimming than the directions called for, not sure if it's due to the year model (mine is a 2014), once I did the initial cut and put it back in place I could easily see where more cutting was needed.
I did the whole project - alone - in just a few hours.
I would definitely recommend this hitch. Draw-tite hitches are well made and - in my experience - always easy to install, not to mention etrailer's great price.

According to Draw-Tite, the amount of bumper fascia that needs to be trimmed can vary by model year as some use a longer fascia.

Easy install works great for my scooter lift it was put on the front of our E450 C class camper

by:

About a year ago I purchased this with a spare tire hitch mount and installed on the front of my e-450 class c motorhome.
Probably been around 5000 miles since install works great.

Fit and finish were good. I finally had to remove the front bumper to get the bolt inserted.

  • Front Mount Hitch Options For Ford E-450 RV
What year is your E450 RV? If it is 2008-2021, you can use Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 65053. That said, if you have a newer model, we do have a customer that verified fitment on a 2023 E450 as seen in the attached photo. Another option is to use a universal part like Curt Weld-On 2" Receiver # E17 and bring it to a welder/fabricator to rig something up.
