Question:
I am looking to convert my triple axle double eye spring trailer to slipper springs. Will the slippers with their mounting be approx. the same ride height as the double eye system. I have 7000 lb. axles with pr6 springs right now. What spring would you recommend for the slipper system? Thank you for the info. Can you tell me the axle center to center distance for the different length equalizers or is there a link in your website somewhere? It looks like my axles are about 33 1/2inch c/c with the double eye springs. I need to keep that measurement the same when I go to slippers. Thanks

When looking to convert your triple axle double eye spring trailer to slipper springs, I recommend going with the 5-Leaf Slipper Spring, # e74SR, for your 7,000 LB axles. This spring has a 3,500 LB capacity, an axle capacity of 7,000 LBS, and the height of this spring is the same as your current 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring, # e64SR.
When it comes to whether there will be a change in the ride height when switching from double eye springs to the slipper springs, this is going to depend on the equalizers and hangers that are used.
In order to stay with a 33-1/2 inch center to center distance of your current set-up, you will want to go with the Triple-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit with 12" Long Equalizers, # APTT6SE. Going with our Hanger Kit with 10-1/8" Long Equalizers, # AP302-H302, would decrease your axle spacing and using the Hanger Kit with 13-1/8" Long Equalizers, # AP316-H302, would increase the spacing.
I have attached an article for you on the differences between slipper spring systems and the double-eye spring systems.
