Winch Recommendation for Hoisting a 300 lb Motor
Question:
If I would like to raise and lower a 300 lb motor will this item work? I am planning to attach this to a crane boom and lift and lower a motor. advise and thanks

You would want a Worm Gear Winch like the part # DL10954 that can be used as a hoist.
The Dutton-Lainson Heavy Duty Brake Winch # DL15850 that you referenced is not rated for lifting things off the ground. Dutton Lainson states that this winch is not to be used as hoists for lifting, supporting or transporting people, or for loads over areas where people can be present.
