Question:

I have a Shelby Industries 5353 winch on my pontoon lift and I need to replace the friction discs. They appear to have a 11/16inch inside diameter and are approximately 2inch for the outside diameter. Not sure about the thickness as they are worn. Before I order replacement discs, I just want to confirm fitment. Also, should my Shelby winch failure down the road, Id like to know if you recommend a replacement winch since Shelby Industries is no longer in business

Thom, based off of those measurements it does not look like the Replacement Friction Discs for Fulton Brake Winch # F501127 is going to work with your Shelby Industries 5353 winch. These pads are going to be a bit larger than what you have (+3/16"), so they're going to be too big.

It looks like the inner diameter matches, so if you remeasure and the diameter matches then you're good to go.

For a full replacement, you can use the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch w/ Automatic Brake # DL14958. This winch has the same 2.5k capacity, is made in the USA, and has a 12:1 gear ratio.

Hi Bryce, Thank you for your response. Your part number F501127 indicates that the inside diameter of these replacement discs is 11/16", which is the same ID of my current discs. Is that a typo on your website? Thanks Thom
