Breakaway Battery Causes Trailer Breaker to Pop When Connected Troubleshooting

Question:

pops the breaker on the frame rail when i hook to the truck with the camper battery hooked up. i disconnected the ground from the truck and it dosnt pop it but all of the running lights come on with no lights on from the truck help plz

Sounds like you have at least a few wiring problems going on with your setup. Instead of trying to troubleshoot each issue you have I think it would be smart for you to inspect all of the trailer wiring you have starting with the 12 volt circuit from your tow vehicle to the battery and breakaway system to see if you can find any shorts or exposed wire and fix as necessary.
