The best bike rack for a Chevrolet Equinox is a hitch mount bike rack because it has zero contact with the vehicle and most hitch mount bike racks allow access to the rear cargo area. The most popular hitch mount bike rack among our Equinox customers is the Swagman XTC-2 Bike Rack, # S64670. This is a platform-style bike rack that fits 1-1/4 and 2 inch trailer hitches. Check out the demonstration video I attached of this bike rack on a 2012 Equinox.

There are other types of bike racks as well. The most popular trunk mount bike rack is the Thule Passage 2 Bike Rack, # TH910XT. This bike rack hooks to the edges of your rear hatch and supports 2 bikes. The hanging style bike attachment for this rack is not as ideal as a platform-style rack, but it will get the job done.

The final option would be a roof mount bike rack. A roof mount bike rack requires a roof rack with crossbars that run front to back. If you are interested in this option, let me know the year of your Equinox and how the roof is equipped (factory roof rack, factory side rails, bare roof) and I would be happy to recommend specific parts for you.
