Question:
I would like to purchase a scissors steps for our cab-over-Lance-camper. Your product specifications state that the stairs should be removed prior to moving the vehicle. Please comment as to why this has to be done. Thanks.

Brophy does not recommend their Aluminum Scissor Steps # AS23 for permanent installation due to their height when retracted. Even when fully retracted the steps will have a height of 10-1/2-inches which could present a hazard. Their other steps that you referenced, part # AS02, extend down only 7-inches when retracted.
Also, the # AS23 Aluminum Scissor Steps have nothing to hold them in place while travelling.
