Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel To Gooseneck Hitch For 2018 Keystone Raptor 19,500 GVWR

Published 10/27/2026

Question:

I have a 2018 Keystone Raptor 19,500 GVWR Pin Weight is 3,940 lbs. Gross combined weight is 31,520. I pull with a 2026 F450 Xl. It has an Lippert 1116 pin Box bolt pattern. What is the part number I would need for a Curt Helux Goose Box. Thanks in advance for your help

Good morning Gary.

Thanks for all the details! I have a really good solution for you, but unfortunately Curt doesn't currently make a Helux for the Lippert 1116 bolt pattern.

However, I recommend the Gen-Y Shock-Absorbing Gooseneck Pin Box # GY48FR. It's designed specifically for the Lippert 1116 and 1716 bolt patterns and has a 30,000-lb towing capacity with a 2,500–4,500 lb pin weight range.

That puts your Raptor's 19,500-lb GVWR and 3,940-lb pin weight within its ratings. It also provides shock absorption to help reduce chucking and road vibrations, similar to what you're looking for with the Helux.

You'll also need the Gen-Y Safety Chain Kit # GY49GR for the gooseneck connection.

Gen-Y is top of the line, so I think you'll really like it. Is the 3,940-lb pin weight the actual loaded weight you've measured, or the manufacturer's listed dry pin weight?

Would you say the Gen Y is better than the Goosetech option?

@GaryW Hey again Gary! Both are excellent options! The GooseTech uses rubber shear springs for shock absorption, while the Gen-Y uses a torsion-flex suspension system. Some say GooseTech is better to eliminate forward and backward chucking, while Gen-Y is better at combating the up and down movement from potholes etc. For your Raptor, I'd stick with the Gen-Y # GY48FR. The GooseTech # MR27MV is listed with a 19,000-lb capacity, just below your trailer's 19,500-lb GVWR. The Gen-Y gives you a 30,000-lb capacity and plenty of room for your pin weight. I think you'll be really happy with it!

Yes, it's the actual pin weight when the toy hauler is loaded. Thank you for the information.
