Question:
Hi, I am looking for a hitch for my 2021 Corolla Hatchback that is a 2 inch receiver. From what I can find online they used to make one for the Toyota Cross that fit but I can’t seem to find it. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hi Zachary,
I'm afraid there aren't any 2" hitch receivers on the market for the 2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback. Only 1 1/4" Class I hitches like the Curt Trailer Hitch part # C11567, this is largely due to the tow capacity of the Corolla, which is only 200lbs of tongue weight or 2,000lbs tow capacity. Class II and III hitches with a 2" receiver are rated for far more than what the vehicle can handle and that tends to lead to people overloading the vehicle. If you're wanting to use an accessory that isn't offered in 1 1/4" you'll need to use an adapter like the Curt 1 1/4" to 2" Hitch Adapter part # C45785. However, using and adapter lowers the tongue weight/tow capacity of the hitch by 50%, which leaves you with a tongue weight of only 100lbs.
What are you wanting to use the trailer hitch for?

I just installed the Curt 1 1/4" hitch on my 2026 Corolla Hatch. I would have preferred a 2" version of the hitch because I already have a luggage platform (that has a bike rack of my own design). Alas, no 2" version is available probably due to the limited tow capacity of the Corolla. I acquired a 1 1/4" luggage platform and I'll use it for gear/bikes.

I was hoping to use it for a bike rack, but I know 100lbs is not enough for the rack plus two bikes.. was hoping there was a 2” hitch from another car that might fit, I had read online that the hitch from a Toyota CHR fits if you cut the bumper but didn’t have any luck finding those hitches either…
