What Thread Pitch Does The Softride Locking, Anti-Rattle Threaded Hitch Pin SR25219 Use?

Published 10/06/2026

Question:

Hi. I have a Capstone Two Bike Hitch Carrier. It has an anti-rattle feature, but the hitch pin is not lockable. The manufacturer does not offer a lockable option, so I am seeking alternatives. Can you provide the diameter of the threaded portion of the SR25219 pin and the threads per inch? Thank you

Hi Tom!

The Softride Stainless Steel Locking, Anti-Rattle Threaded Hitch Pin for 2" Trailer Hitches # SR25219 uses a 5/8 “ pin with 11 threads per inch, so it is 5/8-11 UNC. The diameter of the threads is 15.7 mm (or .62”). The 5/8" pin is standard for the pin size, but the threaded part will change depending on the manufacturer. I'm not sure what Capstone uses, but you could take the pin to a local hardware store and they should be able to measure the threaded portion for you.

If you find that you have a different thread pitch, let me know what you find and I can see if we have another option for you.

What kind of bikes are you carrying in your Capstone?

Thanks for the fast response. I determined that the threaded portion of the hitch is 1/2" with 16 threads per inch. Do you have any hitch pins of that size? It seems that 5/8" is your standard (online)

@TomF That is a very odd thread pitch for something like this. I will see if we have anything that matches, but I can't make any guarantees. And out of curiosity, does the shank of your bike rack use an adapter to go from a 1-1/4" to a 2" hitch? The 1/2" pins are used with the smaller 1-1/4" hitches.
