HellOH. Jim from the Communist WEALTh of va I have a 2013 Lesbaru Forester ?? MY ?? 4th...... its only rated to pull 1500lb ??.... ? What weight can ? I * Safely tow with brake controller ? Also what controller and ¿ install kit ??? Thanks !

Hi Jim! Your 2013 Subaru Forester is rated to tow up to 2,400 lbs when the trailer has its own brakes. Without trailer brakes, Subaru limits the trailer weight to 1,000 lbs, so you'll want to stay within the 2,400 lb limit along with the other capacities of your Forester and hitch.

For a brake controller I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED52VR. There isn't a factory brake controller port on your Forester, so this will need to be hardwired. If you don't already have trailer wiring, you'll need to add a 4-way # C56040 and then use the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7 to upgrade it to a 7-way.
