Replacing Tires, Wheels, and Leaf Springs on a 2018 Grand Design Reflection 311BHS
Published 09/08/2026 >
Question:
I have bought a 2018 Grand Design Reflection 311BHS. I had a blow out today and am deciding to replace all the wheels and tires on the trailer. While I have the wheels off, I figured I should replace the springs as they look a bit saggy. I was wondering what all the parts I need to order to also replace the springs. I know theres been zero work done to the wheels or axels of the years. Is there anything else I should completely replace?

Hey Ryan, thanks for reaching out, and sorry to hear about the blowout. That is never fun.
Yes, I can definitely help with the wheels, tires, and suspension parts for your 2018 Grand Design Reflection 311BHS. Since you just had a blowout and the springs are already looking saggy, this is a good time to go through the entire running gear while everything is apart. Your 311BHS has a 13,995 lb GVWR, but I still want to identify the actual axle and spring ratings from the tags on your trailer rather than assume what Grand Design installed on your specific unit.
For the wheels and tires, send me the current tire size and wheel bolt pattern, plus let me know if you have a preference on wheel color or style. For the leaf springs, I need the eye-to-eye measurement with the trailer jacked up so the springs are unloaded, along with the axle capacity from the axle tag.
Since you already have the wheels off, I also recommend inspecting the equalizers, shackles, bolts, spring-eye bushings, U-bolts, hubs/bearings, grease seals, and brake assemblies. You don't automatically need to replace every one of those parts just because they are old, but if the bushings are worn, shackles are elongated, equalizers have play, or the U-bolts show heavy corrosion or damage, now is the time to take care of them. I’d also inspect the axle tubes, brake wiring, wheel wells, and underbelly around the tire that blew for any damage from the blowout.
Let me know the tire size, bolt pattern, leaf spring length and axle capacity and I'm happy to throw together a parts list for you.
