Question:

Were needing to replace the exterior trim on our 2021 KZ Escape trailer and Im not sure if the 1 is the correct size. Im looking at the RV Designer Heavy-Duty Vinyl Trim - 50 x 1 - Black. Can you tell me if thats what I need to purchase? Thanks

Hey Ashley! It looks like there's two different size options for exterior trim on your 2021 KZ Escape. The 50' x 1" item # RD77YR trim you referenced is one of them. The 25' x 3/4" item # RD74YR is another. Both of these rolls of trim are black.

What you'll want to do is measure the inside width of the track the trim sits in on your trailer to verify which is the correct size. You can also measure the trim itself by pulling a bit out of the track.

I attached a picture below so you can see how this trim installs and where to measure.

We also have the same sizes of trim in white 50' x 1" item # RD67YR and 50' x 3/4" item # RD97YR.

What kind of climates do you use your Escape trailer in? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

Thanks Jerred! I ended up measuring the existing trim and it measured 1” so that’s what I ordered. Going to try and replace it this weekend. (It should be delivered today.) We’re in Texas (DFW area) so it sits in grueling heat and humidity during the summers. We take it out more in the fall, winter and spring and we end up in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana or Mississippi. Looking forward to the day we can take it out for longer treks up into South Dakota and Wyoming areas. Glad to have this resource available now. She’s about 6 years old and we’re going to need to be doing some more routine maintenance on it. Ashley

@AshleyM You're welcome! That'll be a fun project for you! Hope you get some great weather for it. That North Texas heat is no joke! My uncle used to live in Coppell. I'm sure that old trim has taken a beating. Those are my favorite places to travel to in the fall as well! Big SEC football fan here. Where in Missouri do you travel to if you don't mind me asking? We're located right outside of St Louis where hwy 70 and 64/40 meet. You definitely have a solid resource now and I am happy to help when you're ready to do some maintenance on it or have any other questions.
