It is not uncommon for the trim insert pieces to deform over time as they sit inside the channel. When ordering a replacement, it is best to press the hump flat and then measure the width once this is done. The reason Camco doesn't recommend using their vinyl trim like # CAM25113 for around openings is because it can expand/contract according to the ambient temperature which can cause leaks if it hasn't been cut long enough. They don't offer anything that's specific for use around windows or openings, but the folks at JR Products tell us that their # 37211245 Premium 3/4 inch RV Vinyl Trim Insert is perfectly acceptable for use around openings like your entry door.

These 3" Wide flares provide extended tire coverage, up to 2" more coverage than stock fender flares. I went out to our warehouse and pulled a 25 foot long roll of the # CAM25113 vinyl trim and measured for thickness using a digital caliper. I found the thickness to be 1.25 mm. Camco sells this product to many of the RV manufacturers including Jayco, so it's got to be a pretty good product.

According to the instructions, you will peel back the vinyl trim, remove the end screw for the gutter rail, slip the extension behind the rail and put the screw back in.
