Weight Distribution Hitch for 2024 F-150 Towing Grand Design Imagine AIM 15RBA

Question:

Question about on WDH: I have a fairly low-slung Imagine AIM 15RBA, CAT scale wt is about 4100 lbs, hitch wt is about 520 lbs. The 2024 F150 sags about 2 with no WDH. WITHOUT a WDH I need a 4 hitch to make the trailer ride level. Im looking at the Fastway FA92-00-0800, which says it has a 2.75 . My question is will adding a WDH recover the difference of 1.25 of sag to make the trailer still ride level? 4 with no WDH, correcting to 2.75 of on that WDH? Also, since the trailer is low, I think I need the lower profile of the trunnion style. Does that sound right?

Hey Kevin! The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Hitch # FA92-00-0800 will work well with your Imagine AIM 15RBA. At 520 lbs of tongue weight, you're right in the middle of its 400-800 lb tongue weight range. I would definitely recommend the trunnion style for better ground clearance.

You don't want to subtract the amount your F-150 sags directly from the drop you currently need. Once the Fastway is installed and adjusted, it will level you out so your hitch height will change. Based on the numbers you gave me, the 2-3/4" maximum drop will likely be enough.

The best way to confirm the rise/drop you need is to measure from the ground to the top of your F-150's receiver opening and compare that to the measurement from the ground to the bottom of your coupler. See the attached photo.

Hey Kevin, I also have a 2024 F-150 and have the Fastway e2 Trunion WDH. As Robin mentioned, with this hitch you generally do not need to drop the ball lower than the mostly standard 2”-3”. When setting up, you would have your truck just in front of the trailer tongue, with the trailer raised to where it is level. The hitch drop should have the ball basically at the same height as the tongue. When all is properly set up with this hitch, both your truck and trailer should maintain level. Hope this helps
