What Is The Size Of The Oval Cutout On The Dexter Light Box Guard DX99VC?

Question:
Hello, Im wondering about the dimensions of the oval cut out? It says 6inch x 2inch but Im finding that most of the oval tail lights are 6½inch x 2½. The other question I have, is the 2inch side light just supposed to be a clearance light or is that one supposed to do signals and brake lights as well?

Hey Ted, thanks for reaching out. I went out to our warehouse and measured the Dexter Light Box Guard # DX99VC. The oval cutout is indeed 6-1/2" long x 2-1/2" tall.
The 2" side light is supposed to be just a clearance light for visibility. It does not need to have turn signal or brake light function.

Thank you Jesse! I am going to install these on an old 14' sport warrior. I often lend this trailer to friends and family, and sometimes their confidence is greater than their abilities when it's time to back up. I'm working on making it a little bit more "bullet proof." My plan is to drill holes in the back and bolt these onto the existing tail light brackets. Is there a tail light kit that comes with the side marker light and the wire harnesses that you'd recommend?
