Hey Charles, thanks for reaching out. Both of the AC systems you mentioned, the Furrion # FR49TD and # FR39TD can work for your ducted AC setup. Both are complete AC systems, the difference is how they are controller. The # FR49TD comes with a wall thermostat and remote control. The # FR39TD comes with just the remote control and no wall thermostat.
The correct choice really comes down to your preferences and how the current AC is controlled. If your current setup uses a wall thermostat, the # FR49TD is what I recommend. It comes with the rooftop unit, ducted distribution box, wall thermostat and remote. You can install the wall thermostat using the existing wiring, so the swap out will be pretty straightforward.
The Chill Cube is a great AC unit. It has a higher BTU rating (18K) than any other aftermarket AC, and it pulls less power than most other 15K or even 13K BTU ACs. Plus it is much quieter. I think you'll be very happy with it.
Do you camp in a lot of warmer climates?

I Just want to say I just installed one this week on my 2013 cougar 38 ft 5th wheel and it’s been 3 days of high 90s in SWF if you know you know we’re in the Everglades I have it set on 68 and has not flinched even in the high of the day! It’s ducted and I have just the remote mounted where the other t-stat is on “follow me”, it’s at 75% power, auto fan and man is it so quiet you’ll love it!

Thank you Jesse, yes we live in Texas and would like to get more usage out of the RV but the summer months are just to difficult right now to deal with I have been told by others that the FR39TD should work fine for me and I can just use the remote and keep my thermostat turned off? The Timberline heater I believe is controlled at their control board and not by the thermostat? Can you confirm?
