Question:

Hi I have 1989 Jayco 806 pop-up, the axle is 1 inch straight shaft spindle, does not have brakes but does have 4 hole bracket for backing plate, looking to upgrade the old girl Replacing 4 stud hub to a 5 stud for larger wheels and a brake kit what choices do you have available. Thanks graham

Hi Graham! Assuming that is a true 1.00" straight spindle you can use the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 2K Axles # AKHD-545-2-EZ-1K. These use # L44643 inner and outer bearings and have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. If the spindle is actually 1.063" you have # L44649 bearings and need # AKHD-545-2-2K instead. I recommend double checking just to be sure since the difference in bearings is so small.

Then for brakes that fit your 4-bolt brake flange you can use the etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - 7" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies # AKEBRK-2. If you don't already have a 7-way you can add one using the etrailer Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit # e99011 and then run # 10-1-1 back to the brake assemblies.

Where do you typically take the "old girl" camping?
