Will etrailer Electric Trailer Jack e55ZV Be Compatible With A 2022 Cruiser MPG Travel Trailer?
Updated 06/15/2026 | Published 06/02/2026 >
Question:
I need to replace the tongue jack on my 2022 Cruiser MPG travel trailer that came with a RAM 2500lb jack. It only lasted about 2 year. So I’d like to upgrade to a 5,000lb jack. I have this in my cart… etrailer Electric Trailer Jack - Leg - A-Frame - 18 Lift - 5,000 lb Do you think that is compatible? Thanks!!

Hey Jason, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack # e55ZV is a great fit for your 2022 Cruiser MPG. Your trailer uses a standard A-frame tongue, and the # e55ZV is designed to mount directly in place of the factory jack, so from a compatibility standpoint you'll be good to go. It'll just bolt right on.
Moving up from the original 2,500 lb RAM jack to a 5,000 lb model is a smart upgrade. The jack won't be lifting anywhere near its maximum capacity during normal use, which means it won't have to work as hard every time you hitch up or level the trailer. That typically translates into smoother operation and a longer service life. If your goal is a more durable replacement that gives you a little extra margin, the # e55ZV is a solid choice.
How often do you take out your Cruiser?

I put this Electric Trailer Jack on my Jayco 175 (approx 3K lbs) and it really works great. Even when my camper battery fails (as it loses charge from time to time), this jack is so much easier to move manually than the jack it replaced. It was easy to install & wire (less than 30 min). FYI...if you get this, it comes with a cover bag...don't leave it on when driving down the road! Good luck.

I have used this jack for two years now, installed on my 2007 Airstream trailer. It replaced another replacement that was purported to be great, cost twice as much and was silver to match the Airstream color, but intermittently failed to engage after three years with no replacement parts to correct the problem. The etrailer jack performs well, only downside, other than being black, not silver, is that it is a bit slower than the original and first replacement. I have gotten used to this. Because I use the jack to simultaneously lift both the pulling vehicle and trailer to install my Equalizer sway control hitch bars, it helps to know it can lift 5000#. I like that I don't need to remove the round-based stand when jack is fully raised. Just leave it in place unlike previous jack stand base.. Don't miss the remote control on previous jack I never used. I pull with a Ford Expedition and here, too, the hatch will not quite clear the jack when trailer connected. That is no fault of the jack, just its positioning on the trailer tongue. Believe the same would be true of the Toyota pick up tailgate. Once you are aware of this, you just organize your tailgate or lift hatch openings around this slight inconvenience.

I replaced the manual jack on our Coleman 23B. Easy to install and works great.

The etrailer 5000 lb electric trailer jack arrived quickly, bolted up easily, and wired simply. I installed it on a 2017 Airstream Base Camp. The only downside is that I am unable to lower the tailgate on my Toyota Tacoma without hitting the jack when fully connected.
