Question:
I installed a Curt Wiring Harness Part C56147 to use with a small utility trailer. My question: Can I replace the 12 V incandescent light bulbs in the tail lights with newer LED bulbs with this wiring system?

Hello Myron,
Welcome to etrailer, I'm glad you found us!
Yes, you can replace the incandescent bulbs in your trailer's tail lights with LED bulbs while using the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56147. The powered converter on the # C56147 is compatible with LED trailer lights, so you won't have any issues making that change.
In fact, switching to LED bulbs is a nice upgrade. They draw less power than incandescent bulbs, produce less heat, and typically last much longer. Just make sure the replacement LED bulbs are the correct style and base for your existing trailer light housings so they install properly.
What kind of utility trailer are you towing, and are you planning to use it for weekend projects, hauling equipment, or something else?
