How to Remove Old Thule T3 Cradle Strap And Install a New One

hello, i ordered replacement t3 straps. today i tried to replace the straps but could not remove the phillips screws from the cap. is there a trick?

If the cap at the end of the bike rack arm has a rivet instead of a screw to hold it on (check on the bottom of the arm) then you will not be able to remove it. But what you can do to get strap # 753-3535 installed is essentially stretch it out enough to go over everything, including the cradle.

I have actually done this myself and made a video of it. You basically have to work it on there by stretching and moving it as you go.
