Recommended Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller for a 2026 Toyota 4Runner

I recently purchased the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite from you for my 2026 4Runner. On your website you have a blank knock-out for the 2024 4Runner featured in the installation video, but I could not find one for the 2026 4Runner they are different sizes. Do you have one? If not, what to you recommend for that?

Hey Daniel. There isn't a custom fit mounting panel that will insert in the knockouts on the 2026 4Runner. Toyota redesigned them for the 6th generation that started in 2025, which is why you saw one on a 2024.
Both the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller item # RED44FR and the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness item # RED56CR we sell that fit your 2026 Toyota 4Runner include the universal mounting panel. It won't fit in your knockout panels either but if you can find a spot for it, I do think it looks better than just the knob sticking out.
We've also had a few people get creative and just drill out the factory knockout panel and use it to install the control knob.
I attached a picture below so you can see what it looks like installed.

Hi Jerrod, thank you for the response. I was able to use the universal mounting panel in one of the 2026 4Runner's blank knockout spots--one of the two larger ones below the 4x2 sets of smaller ones--by turning it horizontal. It fit almost perfectly that way. I'd send you a photo to illustrate, but uploading a photo doesn't seem like an option with this reply.
