They are a good product. I do not recommend installing them over carpet. Carpet hold water (more than the wood bunk), adds some spacing between the wood bunk and the slits (less penetration of the screws). You might making a slight modification to allow a larger stainless steel screw. Do not allow the screw heads come in contact with the bottom of the boat for several reasons (i.e. rubbing, electrolysis, etc.).
