Question:

What plug-n-play brake controller works with my 2022 ford chassis. Winnebago 31B Vista? I do already have the 7-way plug at the rear and a 4 wire plug under the dash for a controller to be installed.

Hi Nicoholas,

It sounds like your 2022 Winnebago Vista motorhome already comes with a factory tow package, so it has all the wiring necessary to get a brake controller installed and tow a trailer. However, there is not a custom harness available that will plug directly into the plug you have under the dash, so we'll need to use a universal wiring harness and splice into the wiring and run a black power wire directly to the battery. I recommend using the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/Universal Harness part # RED52VR, as it'll provide proportional braking to match your trailer's brakes to the motorhomes braking, works with trailers with two axles, and is compatible with electric or electric over hydraulic trailer brakes. There's no box to install in the cab, instead it'll be a small knob that mounts behind the dash so you can easily adjust your braking power with a simple turn of the knob. The knob has a series of LED lights that will flash so you'll know when it is calibrated and when the brakes are being applied to the trailer.

Just a small double axle enclosed. I would like the rectangle dash inset so I can install the knob like factory. Does it come with that?

@NicholasS Yes it does! We have a Universal Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro part # 331-TPSI-001 that will install into the dash to give you that factory appearance! It works on dash panels that are up to 9/32" thick and includes a drilling template and self-adhesive tape to install it.
