Will the MORryde Easy Reel Spooler MR47RR Work w/a Hardwired Power Cord?

Updated 06/28/2026 | Published 06/18/2026

Question:

The 50amp manual cord storage. Looks fabulous. My question, we have a class a Newmar BayStar 3014 and the power cord is built into the coach. I still need a way to manage the cord. Will this product work without having to disassemble it he poser cord?

It sure will Linda! The MORryde Easy Reel Spooler item # MR47RR can definitely be used with a hardwired cord. It's a pretty easy process that does not require you to detach your power cable from your Newmar motorhome.

I've attached a screenshot from the instructions that shows you how to do it. I've also linked the entire user manual below.

The MORryde Easy Reel Spooler item # MR47RR measures 21" long x 10-1/2" wide x 17-5/8" tall and works with up to a 50' long cord. We've had many reviews stating you can install a 50' long 50 amp power cord as well.

How long is your cord?

The reel works great. It’s easy to use. Wind up so cord isn’t laying around, keeps everything nice and neat in storage area. Unwinds easily to hook up electric.

This generates a second question. With a hardwired class A motorhome, it sounds like socket end (male plug) gets rolled up inside the real. Meaning I must unroll all 50 feet of cord even if I only need a shout 10 foot run. ( most campsites do not require I pull my full length of cord. Am I understanding this correctly?
