Will TorkLift PowerArmor Battery Box Fit In Same Space As Plastic Battery Box
Updated 09/08/2026 | Published 05/29/2026 >
Question:
I have a 2022 Jayco 166FBS and I have a group 31 battery with a cheap plastic box. I just bought an expensive lithium battery and want to lock it up. Does this item fit on the same footprint as a plastic box or do I have to modify it?

Hey Mike! Those plastic battery boxes vary in size, even for the same battery, so you will have to measure to see if the TorkLift PowerArmor # TLA7720R will fit the same footprint. The outside dimensions are 17-3/4" long x 8-3/16" wide x 11-3/8" tall. Compare that to what you have now to see if modification will be required.
Did you upgrade your converter as well? I would double check to make sure it is lithium compatible. 2021-2022 is is around the time they started switching those at the OEM level so your power center (probably a WFCO) likely isn't designed for lithium. If you can tell me the model number I would be happy to help you find a replacement if you need it.

I purchased this battery box from eTrailer to house an Epoch Lithium battery on my NoBo camper tongue. The fit was very tight, so had to cut a hole in the side of the box to route the cables.
