Will WattCycle 12V 314Ah Battery Fit Commercial Grade Battery Box for Group 4D Batteries

Updated 01/29/2026 | Published 01/24/2026

Question:

The next size up battery box HM484 is likely too deep for my travel trailer tongue Two questions: 1st: Thinking of buying a lithium battery WattCycle 12V 314Ah Ultra Bluetooth LiFePO4 Battery with 300A BMS with size at 20.63 × 9.65 × 8.66 inches. The 9.65 is 1/40 of an inch wider than the boxs 9 5/8 interior dimension. Do you think the box would flex enough to fit this battery? 2nd: What is the width of each cable opening in the box? Need to make sure I can fit the equivalent of wires, maybe parallel a few wires, to handle 300A that this battery is capable of continuous discharge.

Hey Ed! I reached out to NOCO and they said the Commercial Grade Battery Box for Group 4D Batteries # 329-HM408 will be able to fit inside. There is enough flex, it will just be incredibly tight. This also means you won't have to try to fit the larger box on your tongue. The cable cutouts on the base are 1" and on the lid they're 0.625" wide.

Are you adding anything else with the battery?

Sounds good, I went ahead and ordered that WattCycle battery. In addition to the battery in the box, I'll add two fuses (one big to the inverter, one smaller to OEM loads that came with the trailer. I'll also put in my victron smart battery sense that helps control the victron smart MPPT solar charge controllers.

@EdL that sounds like a solid plan, you should have a clean setup once you get it all installed.
