How wide is the cut out for the step i have shorelander fenders and it has a 5inch wide plate

Hey Bob, thanks for reaching out. The cutout for the step on the etrailer Single Axle Trailer Fender # HP93RR is approximately 5-1/2" wide, so it will work just fine with your 5" wide ShoreLand'r fender plate. That gives you about 1/4" of clearance on each side, which is enough room for a clean fit without leaving a large gap around the step.
