Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the single axle trailer fender with backing plate. It's always a good idea to have fenders on your trailer to make sure that there's no debris that's going to get kicked up and strike against whatever you're hauling, especially if it's an open trailer or open utility trailer. Even if not though, it's also going to protect other drivers from any of that debris from causing any damage to their vehicles as well. It just kind of helps keep that road debris back down on the road. This is made out of a sturdy steel construction. It is just cold rolled steel.
You'll want to prime and paint this to match the finish of your trailer. But let's take a closer look and make sure that this is the right fit for you. I'll give you some measurements for reference. Now, again, it is going to be a ribbed steel. You can see that rib design there on the side.
As far as the total width, from bottom edge to bottom edge, it's about 28" long. And then the height might take measure to work here is about 10" tall, really more like 9-1/2", I'd say. And then the width is about 7-3/4".Now it does weigh about six pounds. You can weld this on or bolt it on, although you want to keep in mind that you don't want to attach it using just the backing plate. It's not really designed for that.
You'll want to go along the actual edge of the fender. That would be this lip right here to make sure that it gets on there nice and sturdily or securely. If you want to get any kind of mounting brackets, they are sold separately for a bolt on application. It is just a single fender. You can use this on the driver or passenger side, and it works for 13" up to 14" diameter wheels. That's pretty much all there is to it for our quick look at the single axle trailer fender with backing plate.
I hope that this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you. We do have a lot of options available here at etrailer.com and all kinds of accessories in general for your trailers RVs and more. So be sure to check those out right here at etrailer. And thanks for watching..

Fast delivery, great price, product is just as advertised. This is my 3rd order from etrailer and would not hesitate to use them again.
These fenders fit perfectly and looked great as well. Installation is a breeze whether you bolt or weld them on.
Always have what is needed to finish the trailer rebuild, no back orders and the shipping is lightning fast
Was told order would arrive last Friday. It partially did. Called and was told other fender would be shipped out of another location and would arrive by Tuesday. The first one came smooth, the second ribbed. Need this resolved so I have a match.

I built a trailer for my Jon boat, and the fenders were good made and worked well

Wheels, tires and fenders look great on our camp trailer. Excellent communication, tracking and everything arrived in great condition. Highly recommend!
Really like the product well build and strong. Received it with no damage and received it quickly.
DON'T DO IT! Spend a little more on the galvanized version! I had mine stored outside (under roof), but the humidity still got to them and they have tons of surface rust.

A galvanized version will give you corrosion resistance for sure. We have a stainless steel fender that will fit with a 14 inch wheel part # HP98VR. Keep in mind that fenders like this one part # HP97FR are meant to be primed, then painted for corrosion protection and to match your trailers finish.
Fit perfect.Welded up very good !These folks are the best.
