Switching between trailers with different wiring setups is a hassle, but this adapter makes it easy. It converts a 7-wire blade connector to a 4-flat plug so you can tow small utility trailers, boats, or campers without rewiring anything. Just plug it in and it’s ready to go.
Hooking up a trailer in the dark can mean a lot of fumbling, but the built-in LED light on this adapter brightens your work area. You can clearly see the connection points so you know everything’s secure before towing.
The solid plug-only build holds up well to repeated connections and disconnections. It’s made for everyday towing and fits tightly to maintain a reliable electrical link between your vehicle and trailer lights.
Whether you’re using it on a truck, SUV, or crossover, the universal fit design keeps things simple. No tools, splicing, or custom wiring needed—just plug it in when you need it and remove it when you don’t.

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our TowSmart Trailer Connector Adapter with LED Illuminator. It's gonna be a 7-wire to 4-wire flat adapter. So, folks, just like I said, you're gonna be able to convert your 7-way or 7-blade back to a 4-flat connector. Now, this is a plug-and-play design, no cutting or splicing required.
It's gonna fit snugly without dangling wires. This is weather-resistant heavy-duty plastic. It protects against moisture and road grime and when it's installed it's gonna support tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals. Now as I mentioned before, this has a built-in LED illuminator. It's gonna illuminate this whenever you have it plugged in and the vehicle is running with normal running lights.
So I do have a test box here, gimme a second, and this will help simulate this being plugged in to a trailer. And then once I give power to it, such as, you know, running lights, now you can see it is illuminated. So, again, it illuminates just like that. Let's go ahead and shut off the overhead lights real quick so you can kind of see how bright it is in the dark. So, again, it lights up pretty nice.
And we'll turn the lights back on, and shut it off. So again, that nice feature with the LED is going to make it to where you know that you're getting power back to the unit and make you a little bit more visible at night as well. That's gonna wrap it up, folks. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.

Had to drill the center hole out so the connector would plug all the way in! I have a 2013 2500hd gmc with all factory wiring and this connector won't fit like the others I have!! Not a big deal but a pain in the ass when you have to make something work that should fit straight up! Sorry for the bad news.
Had to bend all the pin-tabs in the adapter to get it to fit any of my 3 trucks.
Rubber seal on the flat pin seems very good & water tight.
My suggestion to the mfg. would be to add the test lights as on other non-colored brands.
Needed for Uhaul trailer rental which has a four pin connector. Price is slightly worse than what Uhaul offered in their markup packages, but I prefer to by from here than Uhaul.
Worked great for my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500
