Recommended Rooftop Vent w/a Interior Pivoting Fan

Updated 05/18/2026 | Published 05/15/2026

Question:

Wondering if we can replace ours on the 2023 Winnebago Vista NPF with the type of roof it has. Not sure if it would damage the roof to change it out. Any advice?

You sure can Gail. The MaxxAir MaxxFan Rooftop Vent w/ Pivoting Fan item # MA36WV fits the same size cutout as the one currently installed in your 2023 Winnebago Vista. You won't have to worry about modifying your roof or damaging it.

The MaxxFan Rooftop Vent w/ Pivoting Fan item # MA36WV fits a standard 14" x 14" opening and gives you four fan speeds with up to 400 CFM of airflow. That means better odor control, better moisture control, and the ability to aim airflow toward your living space or bed. It is also available in white item # MA96WV.

I do recommend using the Roof Vent Installation Kit item # 344270KITW when you're install the MaxxFan item # MA36WV. This kit includes the screws needed to install the vent, along with tape and caulk to provide a waterproof seal.

What kind of climates do you typically camp in that has you needing some additional air flow inside your motorhome?

We boondock a lot and this RV gets hot. I had a thermal controlled one in the 5th wheel we had prior which helped with air flow and heat build up.

@Gail I bet it does get hot! The MaxxFan item # MA36WV will definitely help keep the air moving through your motorhome. It only draws 2.5 amps so it'll be a nice upgrade that won't drain your batteries too.
