Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter for Recessed Ball On Flatbed Truck

Hello, i have a customer with a flat bed i am trying to help find a solution for. He currently has a gooseneck ball that is under a door in the center of the bed and recessed. The opening is 14x14. The base of the hitch is 8 1/2in down from the top of the flat bed opening. I am unsure of the hitch being used. The ball adapter is a round style. He is wanting to be able to use a 5th wheel style hitch. Can you help me with some options that will work? Thank you.

Hi Nick! The Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter for Recessed Ball # DM93YV you were looking at is the best option here. However, you will need to get the measurement from the top of the gooseneck ball. It fits that 14" x 14" opening but the top of the gooseneck ball must be no lower than 1-5/8" below the deck surface.
The Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G is really the only other option. The distance from the top of your gooseneck ball to the base of the king pin box must be between 12" and 16" for this adapter to work.
If neither of those will work, you probably have to consider going a different route like adding universal base rails to mount a standard 5th wheel hitch or a combo hitch like the Gen-Y Hitch Advantage # GY53AV.

That mount wont work as the top of the ball is 5" below the deck. Customer explained they have a bunch of trailers and would rather not convert them all. Customer was okay with removal of the current gooseneck hitch. What bed rails would you suggest for this application with a rating of 25k? The vehicle is a 07 c7500 kodiak with an aluminum flat bed. Can send pictures if needed.
