Question:
I have a 2025 Flagstaff 26srd travel trailer. The GVWR is 8516 lbs and the hitch weight is 716 lbs. What weight distribution hitches w/sway control would you recommend for me. I tow with a 2024 RAM 2500 4WD. Im looking at this Blue Ox BLU82XR. What say you?

Hey Jeff, thanks for the information! For a weight distribution system that works with your 8,500 lbs Flagstaff 26srd travel trailer, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37101ET. This system works with tongue weights ranging from 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs. It's going to give you plenty of capacity to load your trailer up and carry any heavy gear or tools in your bed.
The Equal-i-zer item # EQ37101ET has built in sway control that will keep your trailer in line with your Ram when you're going down the highway and make a sudden lane change or get passed by a semi. It's really helpful when you get sideswiped by a gust of wind too. This system includes a 2-5/16" hitch ball but no shank.
I looked up what size hitch comes on a 2024 Ram 2500 from the factory and it looks like you may have a 2-1/2" receiver depending on what model yours is. The 2500 trucks have gotten pretty tall in recent years so you'll also need a shank with additional drop to make sure your trailer's coupler is level with your Ram's hitch. I have listed a couple options below that would work depending on how high your hitch is off the ground compared to your coupler's height.
2-1/2" Shank - 6" Drop item # EQ90-02-4900
2-1/2" Shank - 9" Drop item # EQ94FR
2" Shank - 6" Drop item # EQ90-02-4300
2" Shank - 9" Drop item # EQ90-02-4400
You'll want to take a quick measurement to first confirm if you have a 2" or 2-1/2" receiver. Then you'll need to measure how far off the ground the inside top of your Ram's receiver is. Then measure your trailer's coupler and see how high it sits.
I like the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control item # BLU82XR due to its combination of price and quality. However, it only has 2 points of sway control and the 2" shank is most likely going to be too short to get level with your 2025 Flagstaff 26srd travel trailer's coupler.
What size hitch receiver does your Ram have and how far off the ground is the top of it?
