Question:
I’m replacing an older AC and keep seeing that the new units use R32 refrigerant. I don’t want to mess up the parts list. Is it safer to buy a full system instead of just the rooftop unit?

Hey Mina! Yes, if your existing AC setup is older, a complete system is usually the cleaner way to go now. The newer R32 rooftop units generally need compatible interior controls and air distribution components, so just swapping the rooftop unit onto an older ceiling assembly is usually not the right path.
If you want a complete ductless option, the GE Appliances Deluxe Plus # GE34RR is a good example because it includes the rooftop unit, air distribution box, thermostat, and controls. If you prefer simple ceiling controls without a wall thermostat, the Furrion Chill HE # FR75TD is another complete 15,000 Btu option. Is your current RV ducted through ceiling vents, Mina, or does it dump air straight down from the ceiling assembly?
