Can I Purchase Just the Actuator and Not the Entire Mount for a Drum A-60 Surge Brake Actuator?

Updated 04/30/2026 | Published 04/28/2026

Question:

I have a a-60 surge break actuator drum on my boat trailer that needs replacing. I dont need the bolt on or weld on housing as mine is already welded to the trailer. Can i buy the actuator without the housing? As in the master cylinder and everything inside the housing that are held in with the 2 pins through the housing

You sure can Devin! Since you have a A-60 surge brake actuator, you'll want the Replacement Inner Member item # DX97FR. The capacity was increased on the A-60 from 6,000 lbs to 7,500 lbs but the dimensions are the same.

The Replacement Inner Member item # DX97FR is designed to work with drum brakes and has a 2" coupler. You'll just need to pop out the pins and unscrew the brake line to swap them out.

What kind of boat do you have?
