Recommended 4-Way Wiring Harness for a 2017 Kia Sorento

I have a 2017 kia sorento with the two plugs in the back for a tow harness. I seem to be having trouble with every harness I buy for that. Would the harness that plugs into the tail lights and runs to the battery eliminate those problems since I wouldnt be plugged into kias wiring?

Hey Robert, welcome back! So long as your 2017 Kia Sorento is a EX 2.0L or the SX Limited 2.0L, the Curt item # C56256 will indeed work. Like you said, this wiring harness plugs into the rear connecters behind your Sorento's tail lights. Different models came with different configurations.
I attached a picture below of the Curt item # C56256 connectors. Unless you have one of the models listed above, I strongly recommend taking a look at the connectors behind your tail lights before ordering.
What do you need a 4-way connector for and what sort of troubles were you running into with the tow package 4-way like item # C56332?

I have a 2018 Sorrento and it worked well. I did find that the 7 passenger Sorrento I have did not have the easy plug in for power so I got this one an ran it up to the battery on the inside of the car which was the hardest part but all worked well plugging into each tail light
