The elements that comprise a factory tow package vary greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer and even between different model vehicles of the same manufacturer. Based on my research, it looks like the tow package for your 2016 Kia Sorento would simply feature a larger cooler and pre wiring for a trailer connector. To determine if your vehicle has the factory tow package, I recommend visiting your local Kia dealer with your VIN. They will then be able to tell you exactly what was installed at the factory.

If you are looking to tow a trailer, we have everything needed to set up your Sorento.

For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Round Tube # 75908. This will provide a 5,000 pound towing capacity, although I also recommend checking the vehicle's capacity as listed in the owner's manual, as this will likely be the limiting factor. Unlike the Curt hitch that is also confirmed to fit your Sorento, Draw-Tite does not require the use of stabilizing straps # 18050 with non-trailer loads such as bike racks and cargo carriers.

To install a 4-Way connector needed to power the trailer's signal lights, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness # C56332 if the vehicle does in fact have the tow package. If you do not have the tow package, I instead recommend the Tekonsha T-One Wiring Harness # 118583. Both of these harnesses are simple installations that will plug directly into existing ports on the vehicle.
