Replacement Screen Door Latch for Champion Screen Door on 2021 Highland Ridge Mesa Ridge

Updated 04/27/2026 | Published 04/22/2026

Question:

Hello, I have a Mesa Ridge trailer with a Champion screen door. I am finding it difficult to find a replacement latch for it. Will part 37210785 work for that? The main door has a catch that the current latch fits into and I cant tell from the pictures if its part of the latch Im asking about. Thank you for your time, Jody

Hey Jody! This is a pretty common situation with screen door latches. The # 37210785 is designed to be a universal replacement, so it does work with most RV screen doors like your Champion door. This latch actually comes with its own striker, so if your existing one doesn't line up you can simply replace it.

Where are you headed next with your Mesa Ridge?

Hi Robin, Thanks for replying. It's actually a Challenger door, not that it should make a difference. This latch is one of the closest I've found. How does it attach to the outer door? The current latch has a hook on the door that it clips into. When the screen door is closed, the tongue simply sits inside the lip of the door frame, no striker plate of its own. This is why it will need to be replaced, having pushed or pulled the door without sliding the latch open fully has it almost to the point of breaking. Perhaps I need to look harder for a Champion latch. Our next trip is to Inks Lake state park. We've been there a couple of times, it's a lovely destination.

@JodyR that part will be more of a challenge (no pun intended) and I don't know that you will be able to really line it up without getting an exact replacement. I would need more of a visual to see if it is even possible with your setup. Have you tried reaching out to a local RV repair shop? They might have something that is a closer fit for the style you need. You may just be left with "making it fit" which happens a lot in this industry. You have a 2021 so it isn't super old, you have a good chance of finding that part somewhere still.

@JodyThis latch worked on my Airstream screen door, even though it said not for Airstream. It comes with metal screws, which were longer than my door’s thickness. However, Airstream used pop rivets when installing the original, and that’s what I did. This should work, based on the pictures,

I purchased this part for an older Hitchhiker trailer. It was a perfect replacement for mine. I only used the part I needed, which was the main part of the latch.
