Will Active Controls Plug-In Soft Start 50 Amp Also Work With 30 Amp RV ?

Question:

I have two campers, one is a 50 amp fifth wheel with 2 AC’s and the other is a 30amp trailer with only one AC. Can I use this device on either camper going from 50 amp to 30 or 20 amp or on the smaller trailer from 30 amp to 20 amp?

Good morning Kenneth.

You can definitely use the Active Controls ActiveStart Plug-In Soft Start for RVs or Boats - 50 Amp Dual AC # AS54FR with your 50A RV and the 30A RV, you'll just want to use a 50A to 30A adapter like # A10-3050AVP with the 30A RV.

Instead of the soft start you were looking at, I'd recommend getting the # AS34FR which is identical aside from the fact that it's also going to act as a surge protector, not just a soft start.
