Hey, Paul. Thanks for your question!

We’ve got a great replacement option for your Shurflo 4008. The HydroMax RV Fresh Water Pump # P25201 is going to be a really solid match. It’s a 12V pump with the same 3.0 GPM flow rate, so you’ll get very similar performance to what you’re used to.

It’s designed to be an easy swap, so you shouldn’t run into any issues getting it installed and up and running.

What trips are you getting your camper ready for?

The pump works great. I have replaced several pumps over the years, and this is the one I use.

We purchased this to replace our shurflo pump and it was a direct fit replacement. It has been going for a few years strong now and the only difference I could tell was it being slightly louder than the original. Happy with it and would buy again.

I bought it as a spare for my Shurflo. I went ahead and installed it to see if it was less noisy. It is an easy install. It was initially very noisy and "hunted" around a lot. Turns out it was more powerful suction and was sucking air through one of the pipe connections. I tightened them all and reduced the pressure electronically with the IRVWPC2 Intelligent RV Water Pump Controller. It is now running smooth up and down the flow rates very quietly. High ratings from me!

Although water pump I bought one before this one was installed. We weren’t getting water inside. Well we found it was plugged up at outside connection piece. Then able to get water inside . But now one thing the water in holding tank overfill. So what is problem there. My recent water pump is not installed yet cuz the other is new as well. Your response would be appreciated..

@KarenT It sounds like your check valve or the fill valve is not sealed properly. I would start there to see if that is what's causing the issue.

I have had this pump for several years and it has been trouble free. I had to make one adjustment on the pressure cut out, maybe half a turn, and that's it. we end up dry or cold weather camping 1-2 months a years so it gets a lot of use.

@BillS I'm glad you're getting a lot of use out of the pump. Sounds like you're traveling around the Arizona/New Mexico area for that dry weather.
