Which Victron SmartSolar Controller for 100 Watt Panel

Updated 06/01/2026 | Published 03/26/2026

Question:

Hello, Im adding a 30W 12v solar panel to keep my RV battery charged while not in use. Planning to get a Victron SmartSolar MPPT charge controller. Do I need a 75/10 or 75/15? If I want the ability to occasionally use a 100W panel instead of the 30W panel will that make a difference in choice? Thanks.

Hey Steven, since 100 watts to amps is 8.3 amps you could get away with the 10 amp version of the Victron SmartSolar which is part # VN23ZR. Do you ever have plans to go beyond 100 watt?

How about a 200w flexible panel rated at 6.43 amps per the manufacturer?

@Roger If it's only rated for 6.43 amps then the 10 amp part # VN23ZR that you referenced would be what you'd want.
