What Type of Connector Does Champion Generator Use to Connect to Propane Source

Updated 03/30/2026 | Published 03/23/2026

Question:

I have a 2026 Alliance paradigm 340rl and I am considering buying this or another Champion generator for boondocking, but what would I need to buy to connect this to my onboard propane supply at the quick connect?

Hey Tod, the Champion 4,500-Watt Dual Fuel Portable Inverter Generator # CH44FR has a standard male quick disconnect propane connector and requires regulated propane. Since you have a fifth wheel 2026 Alliance paradigm 340rl that means you have smaller tanks which would have a regulator attached. Do you have a female quick connect currently?

I have two 40 lb tanks in my Paradigm and quick connect is female, but it is regulated and I think in order to use quick connection I would need some modifications.

@TodW Did you mean to say it is unregulated? It's pretty normal for a Tee to be before the regulator for quick disconnects.

@Jameson C The quick connect I have is underneath the trailer on the campside and that is well past the regulators where tanks are. I didn’t see if there was one up by the tanks, but there may be. I’ll check it again. Sorry for delay in getting back to you feeling a little under the weather. Thanks.
