Updated 03/30/2026 | Published 03/20/2026

Question:

I would like to replace the bow roller on my 1999 Shorelander Trailer. I currently have a black one that leaves marks on the bow of my boat. Can you recommend one that will fit my trailer and not leave those annoying black streaks. I am also interest in a new winch and jack. The boat weighs 1900 lbs dry. Do you have any favorites or recommendations? Thank you for your assistance.

Hey Jaime. We've got quite a few bow rollers that are definitely going to fix your black marks problem. If you have a 3" wide bracket with a 1/2" shaft, I recommend the CE Smith Bow Roller Assembly with Bells item # CE29334. It's made of durable PVC and comes with a 3" main section and two side bells for keeping your boat aligned.

The CE Smith Bow Roller item # CE29334 is 6" long overall and mounts to a 3" bracket. I do not know how wide the bracket is on your Shoreland'r trailer so you'll need to take a measurement to confirm this size will fit. We have many different options if your bracket is a different size.

For a replacement winch, I recommend the Dutton-Lainson item # DL14825. This winch has high carbon steel gears and permanently lubricated bearings with a 2,500 lb capacity. It will work great with your 1,900 lbs boat and any gear you have in it. It comes with a 5-year warranty and can be used with a wire rope like item # DL24102 or a strap item # DL24249.

For a replacement jack, I also recommend our etrailer Boat Trailer Jack w/ Wheel - Sidewind item # MJ-1200B. This is a 1,200 lbs capacity jack that provides 11" of lift. It has a zinc finish to protect it against corrosion and a wheel to make moving your trailer around easier. The included brackets will secure the jack directly to your Shoreland'r trailer's frame.

How wide is the bracket on your current bow roller?

Hi Jerred, I did take some measurements; the bow roller bracket is 4" wide. I took your recommendations and did some more digging on your website and came up with a list of parts to consider. Bow Roller: YR45OY-400Y Bow Roller Assembly w/ Bells for 4" Wide Bracket - TPR - 1/2" Shaft - Yellow Trailer Jack: etrailer Trailer Jack MJ 1500B DWL Trailer Winch: DL14825 Dutton Lainson Handwinch 2500 lbs Trailer Winch Strap: DL 24249 (2600 lbs) How does that list look to you? Thank you for your feedback and advice, Jamie

@JamieK You are so welcome! Thanks for the measurement! The item # YR450Y-400Y will definitely work with a 4" wide bracket. The etrailer Boat Trailer Jack w/ 2 Wheels item # MJ-1500B-DWL is going to be a great upgrade. The included bracket will bolt directly to your trailer's frame. The item # DL14825 Dutton Lainson Handwinch 2500 lbs, along with the item # DL24249 strap will have you all set and ready to go.
