Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

I have a 2015 jeep Cherokee trailhawk I already installed the hitch and wiring kit. Now I want to install the base plate, rear light kit, battery charging kit and the brake away wire. I already have the starling tow bar that came with the RV. I need to know what do you recommend I need to buy. I liked the base plate NO: DM9519340.

Hey Peter, since you have a Roadmaster Sterling tow bar the base plate kit you'd want is the Roadmaster Direct Connect part # RM-521446-5 as your tow bar was not designed to connect to Demco base plate kits like what you mentioned.
For lighting/safety cables, locks, and covers for the tow bar we have the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain kit part # RM-9243-1 which comes with all of that as one part number. The diode kit that comes with this allows you to splice into the taillight wiring so that your RV controls the vehicle taillights and does not require drilling into the taillight housings. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV. This will not interfere with the lighting kit you have installed either.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
For a charge line you'd then want the part # RM-156-25 and you'd be set! Have you flat towed a vehicle before?

The Roadmaster battery charge kit works exactly as advertised. Installation was easy. I have had it installed on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler for over 2 years of towing now. I have not encountered any Jeep battery issues even after towing for several days without starting the Jeep.

The battery charge line along with the battery disconnect makes the towing set up so easy. The battery is always getting charged and with the disconnect in the vehicle we don’t have to disconnect the battery manually every time. The complete set up recommended by etrailer is perfect and easy. Set up takes about 5-10 minutes.
