Question:
Is the Dutton Lainson 15440 still available? I was told it is out of production. I am looking for a budget friendly winch for use with shore cables on a floating dock. The largest capacity for 3/8 galvanized cable would be very helpful. Thanks

Hey Terry! It looks like there is a little delay on when it will be back in stock but the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL15440 is still around as far as I can tell. We don't have any notes on this winch being discontinued. The # DL14881 is available right now and has a slightly higher capacity at 3,500 lbs and can hold 37' of 3/8" cable. However, the cost is a bit higher when compared to the # DL15440.
What lake are you on?

Terry - I purchased this product last summer to replace the winch for my 20’ 1989 Cobalt boat trailer. It was easy to install and was very please with the smooth operation. I would recommend.

Hi Terry. The Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch's are a quality unit for sure. I installed one on my 20 ft Shamrock that i just outfitted. The trailer is a Bunk style which takes a quit of bit of pull to put her on the trailer. The two speed hand winch is strong and works excellent. RC
