Hey Dave! For your 2002 Fleetwood Southwind Motorhome I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR. This brake controller is simple and incredibly reliable.

The main unit installs behind the dash and the control knob can mount virtually anywhere in the cab of your motorhome. There are no custom wiring harnesses for that Workhorse chassis so you will splice in for installation.

What are you towing with the Southwind?

I installed the Redraw Tow-Pro Liberty Brake controller in our 2020 Tiffin Allegro Red motorhome two years ago. We tow a 24' enclosed trailer that we haul a car to events. The trailer is #7500 lbs loaded and we have towed it over 20,000 miles since the Two Pro install with no issues. I love the compact size, it was easy to install and looks factory in the dash.

I didn't install it yet on my Crosstrek 2025, because of winter. I use the same Redarc model in my previous Crosstrek 2020; and did work fantastic. For my new Crosstrek 2025 I will be install it soon as spring comes. Soon.

Hey, Dave, I actually have the brake controller that Robin suggested. After the install it works great. Love the fact that the control knob is out of the way and can be mounted in a number of places. I had mine mounted to the driver’s seat….I have a 24’ GD Lineage and tow my 13’ trailer with a CanAm Spyder inside. I like that it can be adjusted for your drive and to maintain control.
