Tow Bar With Cable Management for 2023 Newmar Kountry Star

Updated 03/02/2026 | Published 02/25/2026

Question:

I have a hitch riser that adds 14 to the distance between my coach and my base plate. Id like to get a tow bar with cable management like the roadmaster but I cant tell which ones could handle the extra distance if any.

Hi Edward, what exactly do you mean by a hitch riser? Do you mean a high-low adapter like # RM-048-10? Can you email me a picture? The Roadmaster Falcon 3HD Tow Bar # RM27NQ is a great option with channels for cables. It will connect to any 2" receiver and then to your base plate so something like a high-low adapter doesn't require anything special on the tow bar to work properly.

You didn't answer which tow bars with or with out cable management have cables (safety, light, emergency ) that will work with that high low adapter. The high low adapter I have very much like that high-low adapter, if not that exact item. It adds 14" to the distance between the base plate and the rear of the RV. When I bought a Blue Ox tow bar the light cable was to short and the safety cables could be stretched to the necessary length but require a good bit of force.

@EdwardF sorry, you said you would like to get a tow bar with cable management, no mention of the actual cables. You can use literally any tow bar that fits a 2" receiver with the high-low adapter. And since you said like the Roadmaster I was assuming you wanted a Roadmaster tow bar. You already have a Blue Ox tow bar and you want longer cables? I don't have a way of knowing exactly how much distance is between the back of your motorhome and the vehicle, if you already have it set up I would measure to see what you need. Roadmaster 80" Hybrid Safety Cables # RM-674 are designed for channels but I can't say if they're long enough or not. If you were using Blue Ox cables they're 7' long. The only thing longer would be the Demco # DM9523003 at 86" so 2" longer. Is your wiring 7-way to 6-way? The Roadmaster Extra-Long Tow Bar Power Cord # RM72BQ is 90" long so that may work for you.

Edward, Are you asking if the safety cables that come with the tow bar are long enough to reach your towed vehicle with the 14 inch longer receiver? I will try to remember tomorrow afternoon to measure the length of cables when they are pulled out by hand.
