Hey Stuart, while the CVT Timber Creek Annex for Car Camping # RG35ZV was designed to be used at the rear of a vehicle with a hatch it's flexible enough in how it installs you could make it work on a camper shell pretty easily if that's what you have. What camper shell and truck do you have? This is 84 inches tall so you might compare that to the height of your camper shell.

So does it need the hatch to support the roof?

@StuartG No it has poles and supports to provide that.

I have a Jeep Gladiator with a 2.5” lift and a Project M camper, and it works fine, but under tailgate needs to be tightened up. Another concern I have is that the material is light so I would not recommend this annex if you plan to camp with winds above 10 mph. Good luck!!

Yes, we use it with a shell on our F-150. It works great. If I can figure out how, I’ll post a picture.
