Will An Airbag Kit Interfere With My 2022 Jayco Precept With The Radius Rods Installed?

Question:
I have a 2022 Jayco Precept. I read recently that the airlift 5000 doesnt work without modifications if you have Supersteer Radius rods. I really like the idea of the airbags over Sumos because its possible to adjust the air pressure. Maybe pump them up to 30-35 lbs on curvy roads or windy days and 15-20 lbs on interstate days. Do you have any comments?? Are you aware of this issue??

Hey Don,
I did some digging and reached out to AirLift about the issue with those radius rods on your 2022 Jayco Precept. The brackets needed to install an airbag system on that frame would need to install in the same spot the radius rods frame/axle brackets need to install. Thus creating conflict with the install requiring custom fabricated brackets to mount in a different way.
The reason sumo springs are better for that application is because they would replace the factory jounce bumper and not interfere with the radius rod brackets. I am not saying it is not possible, but you would have to have brackets custom fabricated for your application in order to install.
If you wanted to go the sumo spring route the # SSR-180-54-1 is what is confirmed to fit your Jayco.

I have airlift 5000’s on our pursuit motor home, f 53 chassis, both front and rear, so far I love the difference it has made in the drivability of the motorhome. I also purchased the sumo jounce springs a number of years ago to install on a 2017 2500 ram to help with swaying when loaded with a lightweight sliding truck camper. The truck was equipped with coil springs. The sumo springs did not help very much at all, in fact I wound up selling the truck, and buying an 03 super duty, which I still own, and wouldn’t trade it for a trailer full of rams.

I just needed a grinder to trim a corner off the base plate from Air Lift. And an AirLift lift kit that lifted the bag an inch or so. Turned the radius bracket around so.I had more room. Needed to cut a little off the radius rod threads so the knuckle with the bushing would screw in a little more.
